Abstract:
recise control of Reid Vapor Pressure (RVP) and Octane numbers (RON/MON) in gasoline blending prevents costly giveaway. Online FTIR spectroscopy enables real-time monitoring, but relies on robust laboratory chemometric models seamlessly transferred to process environments.
This presentation outlines a complete methodology for developing models on the lab-based Analect RefinIR and transferring them to the online Analect HSS process analyzer. We cover sample preparation, ASTM alignment, spectral preprocessing, and optical matching to maintain calibration stability.
Aggregated data across five commercial refinery installations demonstrates significant giveaway reduction and multimillion-dollar annual savings per facility.
