2026 - Derek Dwyer
R&D Staff
Oak Ridge National Laboratory

Derek Dwyer completed his Ph.D. in Chemistry at Binghamton University in Binghamton, NY in 2019. His postdoctoral work was performed at Oak Ridge National laboratory (ORNL) in the Nuclear Nonproliferation Division investigating the degradation mechanisms and kinetics of polymer thermosets. Derek is currently an R&D Staff in the Applied Materials Analysis (AMA) group at ORNL primarily investigating the nanostructures and degradation kinetics of carbon fiber/epoxy composite materials using advanced analytical characterization techniques such as Py-GC-MS and EGA-MS.
Presentation(s):
Application of Product-Specific Kinetics analysis and In-situ Raman Spectroscopy in Pyrolysis-GC-MS and EGA-MS
