Jean‑Francois Borny earned dual degrees in Chemistry and Computer Science from Texas A&M University. He brings more than 39 years of experience in analytical chemistry, spanning roles in refineries, instrument manufacturing, commercial laboratories, and pharmaceutical, enviromental and petrochemical companies. He currently serves as Scientific Chair of the GCC Technical Committee and as Chair of ASTM committees D02.P, D02.03.R, and D02.93.2, where he plays a key role in shaping industry standards and best practices. Jean‑Francois is also the Global Analytical Services Senior Manager at Lummus Technology and the founder of a consulting firm, BASIC, offering expert guidance to analytical laboratories worldwide. In his dual role as an industry leader and consultant, Jean‑Francois travels globally to present, train, and establish analytical laboratories supporting process technologies across a wide range of sectors, including refining, petroleum, petrochemicals, environmental sciences, agriculture, and pharmaceuticals. His work continues to bridge scientific innovation, operational excellence, and industry standardization on a global scale.
