Dr. Yina Liu received her Ph.D. in Oceanography from Texas A&M University in 2013. She joined the Department of Oceanography at Texas A&M University as an Assistant Professor in 2020. Dr. Liu is a chemical oceanographer who studies how natural and human-made organic molecules drive global processes, such as the carbon cycle, atmospheric chemistry, and ecosystem health. She applies cutting-edge ultrahigh-resolution mass spectrometry and computational algorithms to identify these thousands of molecules and understand their environmental fate.
