Alex Hodgson is the Applications Manager at VUV Analytics, Inc. In his nearly 10 years at VUV, he has been at the vanguard in creating GC-VUV methods for fuels analysis, including ASTM D8267 (jet fuel), D8368 (diesel), and D8369 (VHA), as well as EN18015 (EU gasoline). He most recently developed the first ever ASTM method for recycled plastics feedstocks, D8519. Prior to coming to VUV Analytics, Alex was a fellow at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, where his research focused on tobacco exposure biomarkers. He earned a B.S. in Biochemistry from the University of Texas at Austin and an M.S. in Biochemistry at the Georgia Institute of Technology.
