Dr. Radovic has been involved in oil spill science since 2009, contributing to research on some of the most significant oil spill incidents, including the Prestige tanker accident and the Deepwater Horizon and Ixtoc-I blowouts in the Gulf of Mexico. He contributed to major national and international consortia, developing methodologies for assessing risks from oil and chemical spills in European seas, evaluating the impacts of oil pollution on the Gulf of Mexico's ecosystems, and shaping policies and strategies for spill preparedness and response in the Arctic. As a member of the Bonn Agreement Oil Spill Identification Network of Experts, Dr. Radovic has helped improve the standard oil spill fingerprinting protocols through his contributions. Beyond his research, Dr. Radovic has provided expert advice to the industry and other stakeholders. His work has been presented at numerous scientific conferences and peer-reviewed publications. Notably, he has co-authored chapters in essential reference books on oil spill science, including “Standard Handbook of Oil Spill Environmental Forensics (2nd Edition)”, “Oil Spill Environmental Forensics Case Studies” and “Oil Spill Science and Technology” (3rd Edition). Dr. Radovic earned his PhD in Environmental Analytical Chemistry from the University of Barcelona. He is currently a Research Associate Professor in the Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Houston, where he also serves as the Director of the Center for Petroleum Geochemistry (UH-CPG).
