2025 - Leon Gilchrist

Technical Services Specialist
DCG

Leon graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and a minor in Geology while working full-time at the Museum of Natural Science where he managed the team providing tours and interacting with the public. Leon experienced many long hours and intense workloads while working to pay his way through university, which taught him key skills in time management and prioritization. After graduation, Leon joined DCG Partnership as a Lab Technician, where he was able to utilize both his Chemistry education and time management experience to optimize laboratory processes and maximize sample throughput. Leon quickly advanced from Technician to Liquids Laboratory Manager to Technical Services Specialist where he interacts daily with DCG customers that are interested in new blends and/or have technical questions on existing references. In this role, Leon is the technical representative on the different types of reference materials, their associated uncertainties, how those uncertainties are managed in various standardized methods and, in increasing frequency within unique situations, alternative feedstocks and fuels.  Leon’s experience with customer engagement enables him to quickly assess various situations for client needs and to relay those requirements to DCG production laboratories, providing quality solutions in a timely manner.
