2021 - Andrew Schaub
Research Computer Scientist
Southwest Research Institute
Dr. Schaub is a research computer scientist in the Advanced Inspection Systems Section at Southwest Research Institute. He has been working on developing creative AI/ML solutions at the interface of chemistry and cutting-edge computing with experience in the fields of analytical chemistry, environmental science, cheminformatics, physical chemistry and toxicology. He is a lead developer on the Smart Leak Detection team, where he actively contributes towards the development and evaluation of deep learning models for the quantification of gas leaks. In addition, he leverages his expertise in physical chemistry for statistical analysis and identification of new or existing features to develop and improve predictive models. In addition to his experience developing models based on infrared data, he is an active member of the Artificial Intelligence for Mass Spectrometry group at Southwest Research Institute where he is a lead developer in efforts to automate non-targeted analysis for petroleum, environmental, and forensics workflows.
