2021 - Ross Koile

President
Chemical Assistance Consulting, LLC

Dr. Koile received his A.S. and B.S. degrees from Ball State University in 1975 and his Ph.D. from Iowa State University in 1980. He has worked in the chemical industry for more than 40 years and has specialized in the practical application of analytical research technologies to industrial manufacturing operations.  Dr. Koile has also taught both organic and inorganic chemistry at the college level, and he has taught a problem-solving course for the American Chemical Society.  He is currently the President of his own chemical consulting firm.

Dr. Koile’s professional accomplishments include the conversion of many technologies from laboratory to field procedures and the application of research technologies to field laboratories.  He has pioneered such field technologies as the measurement of the acid/base balance of organic products at the nanoequivalent per gram level and industrial solvent characterization.  Dr. Koile has authored or co-authored over 300 industrial analytical methods covering such diverse determinations as sub-ppm nitrogen in formaldehyde, process analysis of methylamines by mass spectroscopy, and ppm halogen levels in animal fat residues.  He has also co-authored the concept of Dynamic Standardization, Self-Calibrating GPC Technology, and variety of non-aqueous titration applications.
