Carl is a petroleum chemist with degrees in mathematics and chemistry, including a Ph.D. in analytical chemistry. He started his career as a consultant with the firm of Arthur D. Little before joining Chevron as a Research Scientist. His career has morphed from specializing in mass spectrometry to becoming a petroleum chemist specializing in understanding petroleum composition via chromatographic and spectroscopic approaches. After retiring from Chevron, his goal has been to support his clients worldwide with his analytical expertise.
