Abstract:

This presentation will discuss a robust, easy to use, inert, microfluidic device for gas chromatography.  The device is called a “swafer” because of its small size.  It can withstand temperatures up to 430 degrees making it amenable for high temperature applications.

Several applications require backflushing such as ASTM D3606 and D7900.  Using Dean Switching can easily enable several applications on one instrument which will optimize productivity, efficiency and save on bench space.

Learning will focus on optimizing these techniques and new applications for the industry where they will speed chromatography and enhance instrument uptime.
