Abstract:
Water is a persistent challenge for accurate identification and detection in hydrocarbon streams. Techniques such as Karl Fischer can present off-target identification from interferences such as alcohols sulfur and other polar components commonly found in pressurized liquids. Previously, gas chromatographic methods for the analysis of trace water in pressurized liquids have been developed for the Shimadzu Barrier-discharge Ionization Detector (BID). These results are contrasted to the analysis of trace water in pressurized liquids with the new Shimadzu sTCD for an interference-free, rugged, and highly sensitive analysis.
