Generation of Liquid Nitrogen Safely in the Laboratory.

Abstract:
GC oven cooling using either liquid nitrogen or liquid CO2 is required by some methods and can shorten run times for many other methods. This presentation will show how liquid nitrogen can be generated on site rather than using large dewars which are troublesome and difficult to move around the lab. How liquid nitrogen can be generated from air will be explained including capacity and other parameters. Making liquid nitrogen in the laboratory provides a dependable supply and eliminates purchasing, storage, safety and overall costs of dewars.
