ASTM D5708 relies on acid digestion prior to ICP analysis — a step that has traditionally been slow and labor-intensive using conventional methods. This workshop explores how microwave digestion technology accelerates sample preparation while improving safety and consistency.
Attendees will learn how microwave-assisted digestion reduces preparation time compared to conventional hot plate or reflux methods, minimizes sample and reagent handling, and improves recovery consistency ahead of ICP analysis. The session will also cover best practices for method setup, safety considerations when digesting petroleum matrices, and how faster sample prep translates to improved lab throughput.
