Advancing Ion Chromatography with Intelligent Liquid Handling and Flexible System Design

Abstract:
Modern laboratories need ion chromatography systems that can accommodate diverse applications, complex samples, and changing analytical requirements. This presentation introduces OMNIS IC, a modular platform combining flexible system configuration, intelligent monitoring, and advanced liquid-handling capabilities. The new platform includes automated sample preparation techniques, including ultrafiltration and inline dilution, designed to reduce manual intervention and support samples with different matrices and concentration ranges. An automated anion/cation switching method will also illustrate how coordinated valve control enables both analyses using a single pump and detector, automatically selecting the appropriate column, suppression, and flow path. Example applications and analytical data will highlight how these capabilities offer laboratories a modern approach to routine analysis while providing flexibility to accommodate future applications and changing throughput needs.
