Abstract:

Traditional UV fluorescence sulfur analyzers struggle with non-linear response at elevated concentrations due to self-absorption and inner-filter effects. This presentation details how the ATOM total sulfur analyzer utilizes an Excimer UV lamp operating on the "red edge" of the text{SO}_2 absorption spectrum. By exciting at this optical threshold, excitation energy penetrates the sample cell uniformly without rapid attenuation, eliminating re-absorption and localized saturation. Attendees will learn how red-edge excitation expands dynamic linearity from low-ppb to high percent-level concentrations, providing a stable, wide-range solution for continuous online process and laboratory measurements.
