Passive sorbent-tube sampling provides low-cost and robust monitoring for volatile organic compounds (VOCs) over long-durations at industrial fencelines, making it a gold standard. However, some compounds are unsuited to sorbent tube sampling e.g. ethylene oxide. Here, we present workflows for tube and canister sampling with automated thermal desorption–GC analysis to support robust implementation of US EPA Methods 325 and 327. Both approaches enable reliable measurement of a broad suite of VOCs and are adaptable to expanded monitoring requirements, including additional target compounds or alternative deployment durations. This flexibility provides a scalable platform for future regulatory and environmental monitoring applications.
