The Final Frontier – Analyzing Small Volume Gas Samples with Low Relative Pressure

Abstract:
Automated sample introduction in GC is relatively straightforward when the sample is a gas. We use the sample’s inherent pressure to fill a loop on a Gas Sampling Valve, which allows great precision injections.
But what do we do if our sample doesn’t have any relative pressure? What if the sample has a limited fixed volume available?
In this short talk, we will share a new development in the 990 Micro GC, taking sample consumption in GC to a new low. For the first time, we can analyze small volume gas samples without significant relative pressure, repeatedly & automated, with precision and accuracy.
