Abstract:

PFAS have been released to and transported through the atmosphere for decades as industrial emissions. Although concentrations are often low, their persistence, bioaccumulation potential, toxicity, and unavoidable inhalation make air an important exposure pathway. Standardized methods and regulatory frameworks for PFAS in air remain limited. ALS is developing methods for stationary source and ambient air monitoring worldwide and will present technical advances, field results, quality assurance, and implementation challenges that support future PFAS air monitoring and regulatory decision-making.
