Abstract:
Diene Value (DV) is a critical quality parameter in refining and petrochemical operations, where trace levels of conjugated dienes can negatively affect product stability and catalyst performance.
Da Vinci Laboratory Solutions has developed the Diene Value Analyzer, a fully automated alternative to the traditional UOP 326 method. Based on an HPLC platform with a selective Diels–Alder colorimetric reaction and UV/Vis detection, the system determines DV in only five minutes while eliminating manual wet chemistry.
Comparative studies with pygas samples demonstrate strong correlation with GC-MS/FID and GC-VUV, improved recovery versus UOP 326 and an excellent RSD <4%.
