Abstract:
The mobility industry has seen accelerated growth within the last few years as it witnessed a progressive era with numerous advancements and improvements in alternative propulsion systems. This transformation of the field can mainly be attributed to increasing eco-friendly trends focusing on decarbonization and sustainability within the mobility sector. Lubricating greases are also seeing massive revitalization as research and development efforts increase to design new formulations in conjunction with the new alternative vehicle systems. This poster will provide an overview of some of the new types of alternative propulsion systems and discuss the respective lubricants that are being formulated. In doing so, the hardware of these mobility concepts will be analyzed for the challenges and opportunities which they present, and what would be needed to create the optimal lubricant for each new vehicle concept.
