Abstract:
There is a race against the clock for faster analytical capabilities to advance reaction chemistry for sustainable fuels, plastics, and bioproducts. We will discuss how the Polyarc System enables researchers to quantify functionalized organic compounds without calibration. The Polyarc System utilizes a post-GC column two-step microreactor to convert all organic analytes to methane for detection with an FID. This allows for a faster and better understanding of reaction kinetics through a direct measurement of the carbon mass balance. Important steps have already been taken to better understand the chemical reaction pathway to create sustainable aviation fuels from volatile fatty acids as a feedstock.
