Abstract:

While fuels and feedstocks are often characterized by their overall composition, certain individual compounds within samples, such as benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes, may be targeted for a more detailed analysis. Such compounds have specific tests dedicated to their detection and quantitation, and they are usually measured at trace levels.  The LUMA™ Programmable Vacuum Ultraviolet Detector offers a simple, sensitive, and cost-effective solution for identifying and quantifying targeted compounds, and it can be easily incorporated into existing analysis schemes where traditional GC detectors are used.
