Abstract:
The emphasis on “Green” chemistries has rejuvenated interest in alternative fuels. Many alternative fuels are generated by catalytic fuel cells or biological reactions which can produce unwanted by-products. As with any fuel source, quantifying impurities is of the utmost importance to increase the efficacy of the fuel and prevent damage to systems using the fuel. An applicated gas chromatographic system was developed to measure common light organic and inorganic impurities in alternative fuels.
