Abstract:
Quantifying elemental content in petrochemical matrices is important for a variety of reasons including, health, compliance, and its influence on chemical and physical properties. There are multiple established methods for elemental analysis, however, for reasons such as speed, and simplicity, X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy is considered as one of the “go-to” methods. A new Energy Dispersive X-ray fluorescence system, called the EDXRF-7200, that has higher sensitivity and speed compared to previous generations of EDXRF, has been released in the United States. In this talk, we will concentrate on how the EDXRF-7200 improves over previous EDXRF technology, and the implications of this improvement with regards to petrochemical analysis.
