Abstract:
This talk will highlight the advantages of the 5800 in running a variety of biodiesel products using organic solvents on the ICP. Learn how to run refined and crude oils with an easy “dilute and shoot” approach. These applications will include the analysis of sulfur as well. Applications will reference ASTM 6751 and EN14214 for mainly Ca, K, Mg, Na, P, and S (for information). Levels in biodiesel of these elements is well within range for the 5800 ICP. However, techniques will be shown on how to get reliable trace analysis results of these metals as well. Distilled Corn Oil (DCO) requires analysis in this matrix under 100 ppb for metals. Advanced correction techniques are required to do this analysis successfully and will be shown.
