Abstract:
Plastic waste is recognized as a significant environmental challenge as well as an opportunity. Many organizations are actively involved in recycling plastic waste and by using pyrolysis technologies converting it into usable petrochemical feedstocks. The output of this process is challenging to analyze with traditional analytical approaches used for traditional hydrocarbon streams. This presentation will preview a new automated application using Gas Chromatography (GC)-Vacuum Ultraviolet Spectrometry (VUV) that provides accurate identification and PIONA-type quantification of pyrolysis oils over a broad carbon number range.
