Abstract:
This presentation highlights the development of a robust analytical method for the analysis of elemental impurities in petrochemical industry samples using single and triple quadrupole ICP-MS.
Though ICP-OES is commonly used for this purpose, ICP-MS offers several advantages such as improved detection limits and method specificity. Hence, ICP-MS is an excellent choice for addressing current and future industry requirements.
This method enables the analysis of 26 elements in prepared crude oil, light naphtha, and heavy naphtha samples using a single method. Furthermore, this work demonstrates the capabilities of triple quadrupole ICP-MS for interference-free analysis of several key analytes.
