Abstract:
ASTM Standard D8045 offers a more precise, efficient and cost-effective method for laboratory automation of Total Acid Number in crude oils. Through eight years of development work with ASTM and thousands of sample measurements, this standard has shown to be rugged, robust and repeatable across many labs and technicians. By overcoming the solubility and precision challenges encountered with traditional potentiometric measurements, it is now possible to take these critical TAN measurements to the process using online analyzers. This talk will provide an overview of ASTM D8045 and demonstrate how it can be implemented in your lab and your process.
