Abstract:
Is the vessel that is used for ICP analysis critical? The short answer is: It depends. ICP-OES and ICP-MS have at least an order of magnitude difference in detection limit. This will make a difference in what can and cannot be used. It is also critical to know what significant information the analysis will provide. Not all analyses are equal, nor are all vessels created equal.
This presentation will compare the three major types of vessels used for ICP analyses. The blank backgrounds with different types as well as different digestion temperature are compared . We will also investigate how this will affect the analytical results and how to avoid typical traps for these analyses.
