Abstract:
Hoekstra Trading and VUV Analytics helped a refinery apply modern analytical methods for design and operation of a new gasoline desulfurizer which is the key refining process for meeting the new Tier 3 gasoline sulfur specification. The process requires 99+% desulfurization of gasoline while minimizing saturation of high octane olefins. Detailed hydrocarbon type analyses on six different feed streams provided data to develop a compositional model for any combination of those feeds. The spreadsheet model is being used today by the refinery to design the new unit. VUV Analytics’ methods enable fast, easy, reliable analysis for routine use.
