Abstract:
This workshop will give a concise overview of modern thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), then focus on applications for TGA/DSC coupled to Evolved Gas Analysis (EGA) by GC-MS.
Product formulations for advanced materials are becoming increasingly complex. These complex formulations often involve dozens of additives, each used to tune product performance in its own particular way. Plasticizers, processing aids, tackifier resins, viscosity modifiers and fillers can all be investigated by thermal analysis coupled to evolved gas analysis.
