Kajari Bera is currently a senior research specialist at Dow’s Core R&D Analytical Science organization. She received her Ph.D. in Chemistry from University of Minnesota and was a postdoctoral fellow at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Since her joining at Dow, she has led projects developing in-situ monitoring of reactions using optical vibrational spectroscopy.
Beyond research, Kajari is active in many professional organizations. She has served as the chair for the Gordon Research Seminar on Vibrational Spectroscopy in 2022. She is an alumna of ‘Science Outside the Lab’ which aims to introduce the decision-making process in government and business at the local, state, federal and international levels to early career scientists. Kajari is a strong advocate of Diversity & Inclusion, volunteers at ACS events performing hands-op demonstrations, and upholds safe work practices in her personal and professional life.
