Ian Shaffer is currently a Senior Product Specialist with Shimadzu Scientific Instruments in the System Gas Chromatography group. With over 9 years working with analytical instrumentation, Ian Shaffer has experience in a broad range of analytical technologies including mass spectrometry, chromatography, and spectroscopy instruments. He graduated from University of Maryland, Baltimore County with a B.S. in Biochemistry in 2014 and a M.P.S. in Biotechnology in 2019. Research projects have included multi-instrument analysis of electronic cigarettes, development of biochemical assays and development of volatile libraries for GC-MS. He joined Shimadzu Scientific Instruments in 2018.
