Coen graduated from the University of Applied Sciences, Vlissingen, the Netherlands in 1987.

After serving the armed forces he was employed by Chrompack in 1989 where he worked in the R&D department on gas Chromatography. Here he developed numerous stationary phases resulting in columns that are still sold in big numbers today.

A couple of years after the merge of Chrompack and Varian in 2000, Coen joined the Marketing department in 2006 where he took the role of application specialist and later on product manager GC, GC Analyzers and Micro GC.

After Agilent acquired Varian in 2010, Coen resumed his role as product manager Micro GC.

Next to that Coen also keeps up the relationship with the vast number of OEM, Value Added Reseller and Distributor accounts.
