Abstract:

Implementation of Fourier Transform Near Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-NIR) can be used to successfully replace the need for costly chemical titration methods in the lab, while also improving repeatability of compositional measurements in a sample.  FT-NIR is widely used in analyzing solid and liquid samples to characterize the quality and quantity of various components of the sample. At line and in-line applications allow for taking lab analysis directly to the sampling point in production, reducing sample timing and improving manufacturing efficiency. Real-time data analytics and robust chemometrics yield greater insight into sample characteristics and allow for continuous monitoring for any changes in the manufacturing process. This talk will cover the fundamentals of FT-NIR technology, highlight some common applications of taking the technology from lab to line, as well as how to successfully apply chemometrics to obtain the most information from your samples.
